Physical perimeter protection

Physical perimeter protection is defined as systems and technologies that protect people and assets within a facility and its grounds by preventing unauthorised physical intrusions. The primary layer of defence is the perimeter boundary with three goals: delay, deter and detect intrusion. Previously only used in military facilities, critical infrastructure and other high-risk sites, perimeter security solutions are now common in commercial and residential sites, transport depots, and many other urban and remote locations. Although, the most stringent requirements are still concentrated in the high security locations.

Effective solutions

An effective perimeter protection solution is a unified combination of demarcation (fencing), entrance control (access gates) and perimeter intruder detection system (PIDS). Other technologies and products can be added to the overall solution to increase its effectiveness:

  • fencing topping make climbing the fence more difficult and time consuming
  • security cameras aid detection and offer support when selecting the appropriate response.

However, the three basics remain the same: build a barrier, control access points, and monitor your system to prevent someone or something bypassing your protection. We offer:

  • complete perimeter protection solutions, including: demarcation, entrance controls and detection product categories;
  • enhanced service and maintenance capabilities;
  • significantly improved perimeter protection project and integration support.
