Since 1952, Heras group of companies has grown from a small Dutch family owned company specialising in fencing to an end-to-end supplier of perimeter protection solutions, operating in over 12 countries and employing more than 1100 highly skilled experts. Together, we design, manufacture, install and service perimeter protection solutions across business, community and industry sectors. We supply demarcation (fencing), entrance control (access gates) and detection products through our intrusion detection product brand Geoquip. We also provide project management, system integration and installation, service and maintenance capabilities for perimeter protection projects throughout Europe. Our aim is to become Europe’s number one premium perimeter protection brand, proven by our commitment, expertise and reliability.

Experts in perimeter protection

Physical perimeter protection is best explained as systems and technologies designed to protect people and assets within a defined area by preventing unauthorised physical intrusions. The primary defence is the perimeter boundary with four goals: to deter, delay, and detect unwanted intrusion whilst simultaneously enabling controlled access for authorised parties. Previously only used in military facilities, critical infrastructure and other high-risk sites, perimeter security solutions are now common both in commercial and residential sites, transport depots, and many other urban and remote locations. Although, the most stringent requirements are still concentrated in the high security locations.

Effective solutions

An effective perimeter protection solution is a solution that fits the security and safety needs of the customer. It is a combination of demarcation, entrance control and perimeter intruder detection system. Other technologies and products may be added to the overall solution to increase its effectiveness. However, the fundamentals of perimeter protection remain the same, build a barrier, control access and detect when your measures are subverted.

Proven track record

Heras has successfully met and exceeded these customer safety and security needs across Europe for over 65 years. It is this track record, combined with the ever-developing skill set of our personnel that enables us to say that we are the “Experts in perimeter protection”.
