The building, on the A58 near Tilburg, is an impressive eye-catcher and the most sustainable distribution center in Europe. Heras supported Rhenus and property developer Dokvast in securing the perimeter of the logistics center and the vital role of separating people and freight traffic. Manager at Rhenus Logistics outlined the requirements: “We support various customers in various branches, including the medical sector. Partly due to the increasing demand for life-saving resources, such as heart valves and arteries, our
distribution center in Tilburg became too small. That is why we were looking for a new building to make our logistics processes smarter and more efficient.“

Distinctive distribution center

At the beginning of 2019, Rhenus started using the new distribution center New Logic III in Tilburg. Real estate developer Dokvast, together with contractor Heembouw, realized the building with the futuristic nickname ‘The Tube’. Edwin Clout, Project Manager at Dokvast reports: “We have been working together for some time. We previously realized two properties in Rhenus for Son and Breugel. In Tilburg we wanted to realize a unique and sustainable building together. A distribution center that differs from conventional logistics centers. Among other things by offering additional services that add value to Rhenus’ customers. And by facilitating the best environmental conditions at every step of the process, to operate entirely in accordance with legislation and
regulations. We also wanted to separate the various traffic flows in and around the distribution center. That is why we called in Heras to protect the perimeter.”
