Active infrared beams

Detects an intrusion attempt through infrared beams

The Active Infrared Detection system utilizes IR light to trigger an alarm. When the beam/s are broken, they can be configured in multiple different ways to ensure reliable an accurate detection.

The Active Infrared Beams offered in partnership with Sorhea are state of the art devices with multiple integration possibilities.

Functioning discreetly, these products that can be installed inside the perimeter of a site, providing an invisible alarm system operational in all weathers including fog.

They are also ideal when used in combination with sliding gates.

Heras supplies two main variants, Maxiris and Solaris, each has the same core capability adapted to suit the site application and conditions. Both units utilise a unique multiplexing function that optimises performance and reliability.

Maxiris

The Maxiris high-performance infrared barriers create an effective and invisible detection system. Available in multiple heights from 1 – 3m and varying beam density. The Maxiris also has a zoning capability (2- 3m variants) where the area between the transmitter and receiver towers can be split into 3 individual zones allowing more accurate detection notification.

  • Highly effective infrared detection
  • Precise intrusion location (zone function)
  • Remote (TCP/IP) configuration and maintenance
  • Modular pre-wired housings for most site requirements
  • Multiplexing prevents interference

Solaris

The solar-powered Solaris is a wireless high-performance infrared barrier for effective and invisible detection. This self-contained, solar powered unit features a wireless alarm output, perfect for locations where there are challenging ground conditions and civil engineering issues.

  • Highly effective infrared detection up to 100 metres
  • Fully autonomous (solar powered and wireless)
  • Guaranteed reliability in all weather conditions
  • Multiplexing prevents interference
  • Dynamic radio network (coded and unique protocol)

IR beams works as follows:

  1. A transmitter column (TX) and a receiver column (RX) are installed face-to-face over a maximum separation of 100 m.
  2. The transmitter cells send pulsed infrared beams towards the receiver cells which transform them into electrical signals.
  3. If the transmitted signal is lost (interrupted), an intrusion alarm is triggered.

Experts in perimeter protection

Physical perimeter protection is best explained as systems and technologies designed to protect people and assets within a defined area by preventing unauthorised physical intrusions.

The primary defense is the perimeter boundary for which we designed the Heras Security Model. This model serves 5 goals: to demarcate the boundary of the premises, to deter, delay and detect unwanted intrusion and to deny access for unauthorised parties.

Heras has successfully met and exceeded customer safety and security needs across Europe for almost 70 years. It is this track record, combined with the ever-developing skill set of our personnel that enables us to say that we are the Experts in perimeter protection.
