We are currently searching for a Quality Engineer to join Heras.

The Quality Engineer will report to the HSE-Q Manager, based in the UK. This role is predominantly based at the Heras Doncaster site but will require travel to other sites as required with occasional overnight stays. The overall purpose of the role is to realise the quality policy within Heras UK, in such a way that the agreed requirements of internal and external stakeholders are met. Challenging for customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, are two key factors. Coordination and maintenance of the quality systems, must ensure that the requirements set, standards and legislations are met. Initiating and monitoring of process improvements, should prevent deviations such as non conformities, complaints and quality costs.

Role Overview

  • Determines and implements measuring methods and inspections within operational processes
  • (Co) Decides whether to approve or decline materials / products / non conformities
  • Implements and monitors procedures, (work)instructions and standards, as part of the QMS
  • Manages the complaint process, such as the registering, analysing and monitoring of complaints
  • Analyses the causes of complaints and initiates containment, corrective and preventive actions
  • Analyses quality results, costs and non conformities (NCR), as input for continues improvement
  • Implements, coaches, manages and monitors on the use of quality tools for operational processes
  • Reports on quality related topics and results for various in- and external stakeholders
  • Supports internal and external audits and inspections regarding the operational QMS
  • Identifies non compliances and determines preventive measures to resolve these
  • Escalates major non conformities and/or quality issues

Role Requirements

  • Wealth of experience within a similar Quality role
  • Experience of managing and implementing Quality systems and procedures
  • Providing support, advice and guidance in Quality related matters to stakeholders
  • Discussing non compliances and resolving these with named officials
  • Constructively and logically resolving Quality issues
  • Able to create documents, reports and visual presentations
  • Experience within a manufacturing industry and/or with contractors
  • Quality Management and Internal Auditing Qualification
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Standards, Quality Tools (such as 8D, FMEA, LEAN, Root Cause Analysis), operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Good level of technical knowledge on reading drawings, standards and manuals
  • Good level of ICT knowledge on applications (such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook)

  • Problem solving and identifying root causes (8D/FMEA), transferring this into improvements
  • A logical, flexible, pragmatic and efficient approach to work
