To realize the best solutions in perimeter protection, Heras works together with partners. Hewlett Packard Enterprise is one of these partners together with ACES Direct. Recently these parties streamlined product acquisition and accelerated time to market with standard configurations of HPE ProLiant servers and Aruba network switches, saving time and inventory investment while assuring customers of high reliability and stability to protect their sensitive facilities.
The high security customers are often prestigious, economically and socially vital facilities; for them Heras builds their own private network and data infrastructure for each customer installation. For this, Heras relies on HPE ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen10 servers and Aruba network switches.
Martijn Leertouwer, product manager with Heras in the Netherlands, explains, “Our customers require 24×7 security, so we must make sure the equipment we choose is high quality and suitable for these demands. We choose HPE because they deliver on our standard for stability and reliability.”
Standardized configurations accelerate time to market
Working with local partner, ACES Direct, as a trusted advisor and solution integrator, Heras was introduced to the HPE OEM program to gain better price stability, longer-lifecycle products, and a worldwide warranty. As an HPE OEM partner, Heras gains key advantages to help the company simplify solution configurations, accelerate time to market, and enable rapid servicing of customers when needed. One of the most important features of the HPE OEM program is the ability to establish standardized server configurations.
Heras relies on the HPE ProLiant servers for its video management and security management systems, as well as general-purpose computing. Having established six standard server configurations based on different processing and storage requirements, Heras can quickly configure the servers with its proprietary software to deliver a complete solution for each customer’s requirements. Through the HPE OEM program, Heras also has custom bezels made with the Heras logo, helping to build the company’s brand with customers.
“We use one HPE server chassis that we can configure with the CPUs and disks we need for each solution,” says Leertouwer. “We now have standard profiles, which makes it easy to order components, and saves us a lot of time delivering our end solution to customers. We also reduce inventory costs because we have one chassis to stock for servicing customers.”
Price stability of HPE OEM equipment is also an important benefit to Heras. For large projects, months could pass between the original bid and the customer’s purchase decision. “Being an HPE OEM partner helps us make sure the price we quote is the price we can deliver,” notes Leertouwer.
Today, Heras is delivering solutions through the HPE OEM program primarily in the Netherlands, but Leertouwer has his sights set on expanding across Europe, and eventually overseas. He concludes, “Having a global partner like HPE with a worldwide warranty, will make it easier for us to deliver and support products in other countries as we continue to grow the business.”
