Heras always prioritises health and safety (H&S). Part of this commitment is running an annual H&S Week where we focus on a particular area of risk across the entire company. This year, the emphasis was on the important topics of ergonomics and manual handling.
Our Management Team were out in the field carrying out safety leadership interactions (SLIs), engaging colleagues on a number of safety matters.
One of the most interesting parts of H&S Week this year was the world-class manual handling training that our staff received from the experts at Pristine Condition International.
Their approach to manual handling is truly unique, as it draws on a deep understanding of Olympic-level weightlifting mechanics to provide a flexible approach that reduces strain on the body during daily tasks. As well as improving the efficiency of manual handling tasks, this technique has been proven to reduce risk factors for injury by up to a staggering 94%.
Pristine Condition International delivered blended awareness sessions online and in person for our engineers/installers.
We received excellent feedback on these engaging and informative sessions, with our installers describing the training as “the best manual handling training they had ever received”. And most importantly, our staff have been instilled with a lifetime of correct manual handling techniques, improving their safety across a variety of tasks.
Looking to the future, we are planning to grow our relationship with Pristine Condition International further by developing bespoke training centred around Heras’s specific products and activities. Watch this space!
We would like to thank all our colleagues for their participation in H&S Week 2025 and for continuing to apply the Heras ethos of ‘safety first’ – looking after themselves, each other and our customers.
