Laser detection

Detects an intrusion attempt through laser detection

The Laser detection system “LIDAR” (Light detection and ranging) is a surveying method that measures distance to a target by illuminating the target with laser light and measuring the reflected light with a sensor.

The 2D LIDAR laser detectors supplied in partnership with Sick are proven products with a range of capabilities. Ideally deployed on building facades or areas in front of a building or gate, they can be used as a security detection but also as a safety device. The units are very compact, low power and extremely accurate, giving very good detection performance.

Methods of laser detection

Heras provide the following microwave barrier options:

  • LMS1
  • LMS5

LMS1

An efficient and cost-effective 2D LiDAR sensor for measuring ranges of up to 50 m. Outstanding performance whatever the weather, thanks to multi-echo technology and intelligent algorithms.

A short range unit (0.5 – 20m  or 0.5 -40m) with a very wide angle detection zone (270°). Also available in a range of different colours (white/grey/black/blue dependent on model) to blend into the installation environment.

LMS5

A powerful, efficient 2D LiDAR sensor for measuring ranges up to 80m with excellent performance even under unfavorable weather conditions due to multi-echo technology. With several inputs and output options and synchronization of several sensors possible it is a very configurable unit.

A medium range unit (0.7 – 80m) with a wide angle detection zone (190°), the LMS5 operates at a high performance with several input and output alarm options. Also available in 2 colours (white or blue).

Experts in perimeter protection

Physical perimeter protection is best explained as systems and technologies designed to protect people and assets within a defined area by preventing unauthorised physical intrusions.

The primary defense is the perimeter boundary for which we designed the Heras Security Model. This model serves 5 goals: to demarcate the boundary of the premises, to deter, delay and detect unwanted intrusion and to deny access for unauthorised parties.

Heras has successfully met and exceeded customer safety and security needs across Europe for almost 70 years. It is this track record, combined with the ever-developing skill set of our personnel that enables us to say that we are the Experts in perimeter protection.
