About the Role & the Team

This role will provide an opportunity for a Sales Estimator to prepare estimations of work by gathering specifications, proposals, material costs and labour. The role will include building relationships with clients whilst promoting business products and services to maximise sale opportunities.

This role is predominately office based in the Middleton office but may require occasional travel to visit customers or to other Heras sites. Hours are 37 per week, Monday to Thursday 08:45-17:00 and Friday 08:45-16:30.


Role Overview

  • Provide a quality and timely estimating service to customers based on their needs and budget
  • Offer advice and guidance to customers and deliver excellent customer service
  • Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare estimates
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates and sales
  • Achieve KPIs and sales targets
  • Ensure ERP system is kept up to date
  • Utilise knowledge within wider team
  • Gain a clear understanding of customer’s business needs

About You

Essential:

  • Wealth of experience working within a similar role
  • Experience within the construction or engineering industry
  • Good at building working relationships
  • Practical approach to work and problems
  • Ability to understand drawings and plans
  • Technical mind set
  • Good working level of ICT skills on applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Driving license
  • Commercially aware; understanding the business, how it works, and being able to analyse local, national, and global issues which may affect Heras
  • Ownership: You look after tasks, queries, and problems and take responsibility from start to finish, ensuring a great service
  • Communication: You are a team player, helping your colleagues and responding in a supportive and prompt manner
  • Time Management: You are able to manage your time effectively to ensure you meet deadlines
  • Relationship Building: You are able to build and maintain relationships and easily establish rapport with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Motivation: You are motivated to achieve your targets and strive to succeed personally and for the business
