About the Role & the Team

Are you a reliable and committed Field Sales Engineer - Mechanical with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, and exciting environment? If so, we would love to receive your application to join the Heras family.

This role will provide an opportunity to use your knowledge and expertise to support sales enquiries from a technical perspective, determine costing of special products, carry out site surveys at customer sites and determine mechanical requirements. Generating bill of quantities. Sourcing of special items required for solution selling. Design of bespoke demarcation and entrance control systems.

There are 13 experienced individuals within the team including Field Sales Engineers – Electrical, Field Sales Engineer – Mechanical, Industrialisation Engineers, Design Engineer, Product Engineer and the Sales Engineering Manager

This role will be based in Doncaster and there will be regular visits to various customer sites across the UK.

Role Overview

  • Attending customer sites to conduct a site survey and identify their needs and engineering adaptations of products, equipment and services.
  • From site surveys to be able to produce site layout drawings, mechanical calculations and bill of quantities
  • Providing product support to the project, industrialisation, production and planning departments to assist them in carrying out their duties
  • To provide first and second line support to the business via the Ticketing system where applicable
  • Support NCRs investigation to determine root cause and propose a solution
  • Developing a thorough knowledge of our products and design to become an expert in your role and able to provide support and solutions
  • Accountable and responsible for allocated Pre-Sales, Project and Aftersales support work for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and current customers to understand requirements
  • Determine improvements by analysing all related customer documents, consulting with relevant stakeholders and putting forward proposals
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending webinars, reviewing professional publications and establish personal networks

About You

Our Ideal Person

The ideal person for this role will be an outgoing individual who is passionate about building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You have strong communication skills. You will have strong communication skills to ensure understanding across multi-functional disciplines. You will also ben inquisitive and solution focussed.

Essential:

  • Wealth of experience of working within a similar role
  • Worked within the construction industry
  • Using AutoCAD to an intermediate level
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • Minimum GCSE level or equivalent in Maths, English and Science
  • HNC/HND (or similar) in mechanical and/or electrical discipline

Desirable:

  • AutoCAD/Inventor/SolidWorks Qualification
  • Degree in engineering
  • Good knowledge of perimeter protection products
  • Experience in using an ERP system
