About the Role & the Team

This role will provide an opportunity to be responsible for the Purchase Ledger function as well as Expenses and Fleet. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Purchase Ledger professional to expand their skillset and broaden their skillset as this role will also house responsibility for Expenses and Fleet.

This role will be office based at our Doncaster branch in Balby with the potential of some occasional travel across other Heras sites in the UK.

Role Overview

  • Leading a small Purchase Ledger team (2 employees) including setting and monitoring KPIs and managing performance
  • Being a go-to person for the team for guidance on process and complex supplier accounts/queries
  • Continuous improvement of existing processes
  • Ensure process flow and working instructions are kept up to date and user friendly
  • Ensure supplier invoices are processed in a timely manner and are paid in accordance with agreed payment terms
  • Ensure subcontractor invoices are processed accurately and prepare the monthly CIS return
  • Prepare monthly EC purchase listing
  • Review weekly payment runs and manual payment requests, ensuring all KPIs are met
  • Ensure staff expenses are paid in accordance with the expenses policy and queries answered in an efficient manner
  • Ensure authorisations are in accordance with the purchase policy and approvals matrix (includes coding invoices to jobs and general ledger)
  • Managing the company’s fleet of vehicles, ensuring that staff are fully informed of fleet related information and guidance
  • Ensure the daily finance post and email inbox are distributed

About You

Essential

  • Substantial Purchase Ledger experience with the ability to implement process improvement and to act as an escalation point for complex queries
  • Demonstrable people management experience, capable of motivating a team to achieve high performance
  • High attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when dealing with data and numbers
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and queries, seeing them through to completion and thinking of solutions to problems
  • Positive outlook with the ability to build great working relationships
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ownership: You look after tasks, queries, and problems and take responsibility from start to finish, ensuring a great service
  • Resilience: You are able to recover from setbacks quickly, and are able to thrive within a fast paced, busy environment

Desirable

  • Experience of Fleet administration/management would be highly advantageous
  • Experience of using Navision would be highly advantageous
  • Experience of processing/managing expenses
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • AAT qualified
