Heras Extell Fencing System


ECONOMICAL PROTECTION Extell is a general purpose perimeter fencing system, designed to provide a high degree of vandal resistance but at a cost level normally associated with more lightweight fencing systems.
WIDE RANGE Extell is made suitable for a wide range of budgets and locations by providing choice options of height, mesh, thickness and coating finish.
ROBUST AND RESISTANT The expanded metal mesh fabric of Extell is formed from sheet steel, without any welds, making it a highly durable form of perimeter protection but with excellent through-vision. The posts are made from a heavy-duty steel section and, in conjunction with the steel horizontal stringers, provide a strong, rigid framework.
SECURE The system incorporates anti-tamper fixings as standard. The mesh itself is difficult to breach, as many strands have to be cut to make a gap large enough for entry, an arduous and time consuming exercise. Unlike chain link, the mesh cannot be unravelled with just one cut. Other benefits include an absence of effective footholds and a high impact resistance. Extell security can be further enhanced by the addition of barbed wire or barbed (razor) tape, either in single strands or concertina form.

INSTALLATION FOUNDATIONS Posts are set into the ground to a depth of 600mm for 1.80mtr high fences and 750mm for 2.10mtr and 2.40mtr heights. Under nominal conditions post holes should be 300mm x 300mm in plan view and filled with concrete to within 50mm of ground level.
FIXINGS 1. Set a post 2. Connect and align stringers to posts using stringer plates and clamp bracket sets. Use stringers as a template for setting other posts at nominal 3.00mtr centres. 3. Clamp mesh to stringers using clamp latch sets (6 No. equally spaced per stringer), ensuring a minimum 1 mesh overlap beyond the bolt holes in each of the adjacent posts. 4. Clamp mesh to posts using the post clamp bar sets.

HANDLING It is important that materials are carried, not dragged, and are generally handled with care to ensure that the coating is not damaged prior to (during) installation.
