Heras Cladex Fencing System


ECONOMIC UPGRADE Cladex is designed primarily as an economic upgrade system for situations where the mesh on an existing fence is in disrepair but the posts are still good. Cladex can be fitted onto these existing posts, using a standard range of fittings, to produce a new fence at much less cost than having to install new posts and mesh.
IMPROVED SECURITY The Expanded Metal mesh fabric of Cladex is formed from sheet steel, without any welds, making it a highly durable and vandal-resistant form of perimeter protection. Often Cladex is used to replace light gauge chain link, thereby enhancing the security aspect of the fence.
EFFECTIVE REPAIRS If budget availability does not allow for a total fenceline to be upgraded, the Cladex system facilitates effective repairs to selected fencing bays. Being modular in nature, Cladex itself is quick and easy to repair in the event of damage.

INSTALLATION
CLAMPING ASSEMBLIES & STRINGERS Three sizes of clamping assembly available to fit most posts. Select the correct assemblies and clamp as shown, using dimensions given. For corner assemblies, the standard clamp is used, with the corner bracket bolted (one hole side) between the post and the clamp assembly as shown.The standard bracket is for external corners only. An alternative design is supplied for internal corners. The front plate of the clamp and the two bolts are slid into the stringer before clamping to the posts.
STRINGERS LAYOUTS & JOINTS All stringers are 4000mm long and joined together using the joint plate and two bolts. For maximum strength, the stringer joints should be staggered. This can be achieved by cutting the central stringer in half at the start of the fence run. At corners, the stringer is fitted to the corner bracket with two bolts and nuts.
MESH The mesh panel is positioned against the stringers and bolted to them using the clamp latch (4 per stringer every 3mtr span). Where panels meet, the overlap should be 2 meshes and a clamp latch located at each joint. In addition, U-bolts should be fitted at the joints, midway between each stringer.
SLOPING GROUND & OTHER SITE CONDITIONS UP TO 1 IN 6 The standard clamp can be tilted to the angle of the slope. OVER 1 IN 6 The next size up clamp assembly is used. This allows the clamp to be tilted up to angles of 45 degrees. Please advise Heras U.K. Fencing Systems when ordering.

FLEXIBILITY The Cladex System has been designed in such a way that it can be used with nearly all types of standard fencepost. If existing fenceposts do not carry a barbed wire topping, they can normally be upgraded in order to do so. This would be achieved utilizing special brackets: further details are available on request.
MATCHING GATES Usually existing gates can be upgraded through recladding in a similar fashion to the main fenceline. Alternatively Heras is able to manufacture new gates to match, both single and double. Please contact the sales office for full information.
SUPPLIED COMPLETE There is of course the option of buying the Cladex system as a total package including all new posts (a variety of styles are available).
